Our last night in Ilfracombe was a Monday evening and we weren't sure whether there would be much open or not. We had a look at a couple of options but I'd liked the look of the menu at Basil's on the first night and thankfully it was open on Mondays.
Mr VST went for the mushroom wellington and I went for the spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The mushroom wellington had an amazing herby layer and was one of best I've tasted. The spinach and cannelloni was great too. Plenty of spinach with light delicate flavours. Mine came with chips that were very tasty too, crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Another great restaurant in Ilfracombe.
